چکیده

In this study, we present the results of effect duplex surface modification 304-L stainless steel substrates by an electron-beam treatment (EBT) and subsequent deposition diamond-like carbon coatings on roughness corrosion behavior. During EBT process, beam power was varied from 1000 to 1500 W. The successful DLC confirmed FTIR Raman spectroscopy experiments. showed a presence C–O, C=N, graphite-like sp2, mixed sp2-sp3 C–C bond vibrations. topography studied atomic force microscopy. rise in leads decrease deposited coatings. studies resistance samples have been performed using three electrochemical techniques: open circuit potential (OCP), cyclic voltammetry (polarization measurements), non-destructive impedance (EIS). measured potentials suggest that these are corrosion-resistant even medium, containing corrosive agents such as chloride ions. It can be concluded most specimen is coating electron-beam-treated SS substrate

Effect of bias voltage on structural and mechanical characteristics of diamond-like carbon thin film applied by ion beam deposition

This study, investigates the effect of bias voltage on structural changes of diamond-like carbon thin film created by ion beam deposition is investigated. For this purpose, the bias voltage in the values of 0 V, -50 V, -100 V and -150 V on the AA5083 aluminum alloy was considered. Raman spectroscopy was used to evaluate structural. Influence of the bias voltage on the thickness and roughness of...

Biomedical applications of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings: A review

To resist wear, biomedical components require coatings that are exceptionally hard, have low friction, and are bioinert. Diamond-like carbon has been shown to provide this capability and to prevent leaching of metallic ions into the body. There are many ways to deposit such coatings from carbonaceous precursors, and some offer the means to incorporate other elements such as nitrogen, titanium, ...

Deposition and characterization of ultra thin diamond like carbon films

Amorphous hydrogenated and/or nitrogenated carbon films, a-C:H/a-C:N, in overall thickness up to 2 nm are materials of choice as a mechanical and corrosion protection layer of the magnetic media in modern hard disk drive disks. In order to obtain high density and void-free films the sputtering technology has been replaced by different plasma and ion beam deposition techniques. Hydrocarbon gas p...
